Dengue
Dengue fever (often called just dengue) is a mosquito-borne, viral infection that causes a severe, flu-like illness. In some people, a potentially life-threatening complication called dengue hemorrhagic fever can occur. Dengue is the most common mosquito-borne viral illness of humans that in recent years has become a major worldwide public health threat. Approximately 2.5 billion people throughout the world are at risk from dengue, and explosive outbreaks are occurring in the Americas and South-East Asia.
Dengue fever can be caused by any one of four types of dengue virus: DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4. Infection with one virus does not protect a person against infection with another. It is carried by Aedes mosquitoes. Symptoms of typical uncomplicated dengue usually start within 5 to 6 days after a person has been bitten by an infected mosquito. Some common symptoms are: High fever ,Severe headache Pain behind the eye ,Severe joint pain.
