Filariasis
Filariasis is a parasitic disease caused by microscopic, thread-like nematode worms mainly by Wuchereria bancrofti generally found only in the tropical regions. The most common type of filariasis is infection with a parasitic worm that lives in the human lymph system. This is called lymphatic filariasis. The parasite is spread from person to person by infected mosquitoes.
